Firefighting's Finest Moving & Storage, founded in Fort Worth in 2001 by off-duty firefighters Derrick Potter and Patrick Dodson, is expanding its Dallas location at 4924 Woodall St. The company, known locally as "the firefighter movers," has served Dallas from Woodall Street for more than a decade.
The expansion adds trucks, trained crew members and storage capacity, so the Dallas team can book more moves on the dates customers want. The growth follows rising demand for local and long-distance moves from Dallas families and businesses.
"Dallas has been good to us, and we want to answer every call the way a fire crew would: on time, with the right gear and the right people," said Pat Dodson, co-founder and executive vice president of Firefighting's Finest Moving & Storage. Dodson is a U.S. Navy veteran who served with the Fort Worth, Grapevine and federal fire services. "Adding trucks and crews in Dallas means more families get that service on the day they need it."
The firefighter name is more than a brand. Members of Dallas Fire-Rescue work on the company's crews and sales team on their days off. So do firefighters from nearby departments such as Colleyville, and veterans of the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. Every crew member passes a background check and drug screening before working in a customer's home.
"On shift, people trust us with their homes in the worst moments," said Justin McKinney, a crew leader and member of Dallas Fire-Rescue. "On moving day, they trust us with everything they own. It's the same job: show up, be careful, and take care of people."
From Woodall Street, crews serve 26 communities across North Texas, including Plano, Frisco, Irving, Lewisville, Carrollton, Richardson, Garland, McKinney, Denton and the Park Cities. Services include residential, commercial, apartment, senior and military moves, packing and unpacking, and month-to-month climate-controlled storage with no long-term contract.
The Dallas location has been a BBB Accredited Business since 2015. The company holds an A+ BBB rating and is registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT 2783472, MC 1016781).
Residents can meet the crews on the company's Dallas team page or request a free estimate at (469) 737-7800.
